You’ve heard the saying, but what if the VR headset you’re using is an older model that can’t support Oculus Rift?
That’s the case for the HTC Vive.
HTC says its newest headset can be used on the Vive without the need for a headset adapter, but it’s not clear if that means you can’t use the HTC-built headset on the Oculus Rift.

The HTC Vive is one of the best VR headsets on the market, but if you want to play games on it you’ll need an Oculus Rift or other VR headset that can support it.
We spoke with HTC to find out how to use its latest VR headset with the Vive, but the company wouldn’t offer any guidance on how to get started.
HTC’s Vive doesn’t support the Oculus VR headset, and if you’re planning on using the HTC VR headset on a PC, you’ll want to get an external headset to use with it.
